Loam

Client: Loam
Role: UX/UI Design, Rebranding
Date: 2022

Summary

Designed a full brand and webshop concept for Loam, a Berlin ceramics studio, turning a handmade, ad-hoc inventory into a browsable, filterable shop built from reusable modules.

Outcome

Delivered a complete prototype, including a new logo, typeface, palette, and modular shop structure, published as a full walkthrough on Behance for the studio to take into development.

Turning a handmade inventory into a shop people can browse

Loam is a ceramic work space, learning place, and storefront in Berlin, created by ceramic artists Jana Lippert and Kelly Halseth. The studio needed a concept for a webshop and an overall brand and website redesign, one that communicates the product as unique and handcrafted, categorizes existing inventory into curated collections, and leaves room for new work as it's made.

Modules that rearrange themselves as the inventory does

I introduced a new logo, typeface, and palette, divided products into two main categories with filters for drinkware, vases, plates, and bowls, and built the whole shop around simple, reusable modules, so new collections can be added without a redesign. A sticky header keeps essential sections, gift ideas, and the cart one click away, with light hover animation throughout.
